Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use HEALTHWire articles in a local publication under the byline of a staff member?
A: Yes. That's the whole idea behind HEALTHWire--to give you public relations/marketing material you can use as you see fit to meet your needs.
You can also edit, localize and make whatever changes you wish to the articles in order to meet your specific needs. If you the article as written, there is no need to provide a HEALTHWire credit line.
Q: Can I get exclusive use in my marketing area?
A: For those who request it, we grant exclusive use within a defined area. We ask the subscriber to define this area (zip codes, cities or names of hospitals) provided it is reasonable--usually a radius of 50 to 150 miles. We agree not to market or sell our article services within this area. Exclusive use is not granted for HEALTH SHORTS.
Q: Can we get the articles by email or on diskette?
A: Yes. We charge $2 extra a month for a diskette; no charge for email. We send the hard copy as well.
Q: Can we share a subscription with a sister hospital or give the articles to others to use?
A: No. You buy the rights for one institution in one defined marketing area. If you have sister hospitals or others in a network who are interested in our services, we can discuss a discount.
Q: How long is a subscription term?
A: Subscriptions are sold for a one-year term. We do allow subscribers to pay on a quarterly basis. We generally allow cancellations at any time, but it is unfair to us when hospitals cancel a subscription simply because the person who ordered the subscription is no longer employed at that institution. When a yearly subscription is up, we send an invoice for the following year, asking those who wish to cancel to return the invoice or notify us by phone or email.
Q: Can I get my articles early?
A: The schedule is made up with the idea of giving you the most up-to-date information available. They are written just before delivery during the first week of the scheduled month.
Q: How about correlating the articles to holidays, summer topics or national themes?
A: Our goal is to give you the articles a month or two ahead of the time you need them. Hence, holiday articles are sent out during September or October rather than December.
